Payment policy
Payment Policy
This page explains how payments work at Amana Jewelry, which payment methods we accept, how your details are protected, and what happens if something goes wrong. It applies to all orders placed through amanajewelry.com.
Accepted payment methods
We accept the following payment methods at checkout:
- Visa — credit and debit cards
- Mastercard — credit and debit cards
- Maestro — debit cards
- American Express
- Apple Pay — on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Safari, confirmed with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode
- Google Pay — on Android devices and in Chrome, using a card saved to your Google account
- Shop Pay — Shopify's accelerated checkout, which securely saves your delivery and payment details for faster future orders
The payment methods available to you are shown at checkout. If a method is not displayed, it is not available for your order, device or card issuer. We do not currently accept PayPal, bank transfer, cheque, cash on delivery, cryptocurrency or buy-now-pay-later services.
Currency, prices and VAT
All prices on this website are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. The price shown on the product page is the price you pay — we do not add handling fees, service charges or payment surcharges at checkout. Delivery is free on all orders, so no shipping cost is added.
The total amount payable, including any taxes, is confirmed on the final checkout page before you place your order. If your card is issued in a currency other than GBP, your bank or card issuer may apply its own conversion rate and foreign transaction fee. These charges come from your bank, not from us, and we have no control over them.
When you are charged
Payment is taken in full at the moment you place your order. You will see an order confirmation on screen and receive a confirmation email shortly afterwards.
Occasionally your bank may show a temporary authorisation hold rather than a completed payment. This is a standard banking process and the hold is released or converted into a charge automatically, usually within a few working days.
Your contract with us is formed when we send you a confirmation that your order has been dispatched. If we are unable to fulfil your order after payment has been taken, we will cancel it and refund you in full.
Payment security
Payments are processed by Shopify Payments and the relevant card networks and wallet providers. We do not see, handle or store your full card number, expiry date or security code at any point.
All pages on this website are served over an encrypted TLS connection, and card data is processed through PCI DSS compliant systems. Card payments are subject to Strong Customer Authentication under UK regulations, which means your bank may ask you to confirm the transaction — typically through your banking app, a one-time passcode, or biometric approval. This step is required by your bank and cannot be skipped.
Declined or failed payments
If your payment is declined, no order is created and no money leaves your account, although your bank may briefly show a pending authorisation.
Payments are most commonly declined because of a typing error in the card number, expiry date or security code, a billing address that does not match the one your bank holds on file, insufficient funds or a card limit, an expired card, a failed authentication step, or your bank's own fraud checks.
Please check your details and try again, or use a different payment method. If the payment continues to fail, contact your bank first — they can see the reason for the decline, and we cannot. Our team is happy to help if you are still stuck: support@amanajewelry.com.
Refunds
Refunds are always issued to the original payment method used for the order. We cannot refund to a different card, account or wallet, and we do not issue refunds by bank transfer or cash.
Once a refund has been approved, we process it within 10 business days. After that, the time it takes to appear on your statement depends on your bank or card issuer — usually 3 to 5 business days for cards, and sometimes up to a full billing cycle for credit cards. Refunds made to Apple Pay, Google Pay or Shop Pay are returned to the card linked to that wallet.
You will receive an email confirmation as soon as the refund has been processed on our side. For eligibility, timeframes and how to start a return, please see our Return and Refund Policy.
Fraud prevention and order verification
All orders are screened automatically for signs of fraud. In rare cases we may need to verify an order before dispatch, and we may contact you to confirm your details. If we cannot verify an order, or if we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraudulent use of a payment method, we may cancel the order and refund the payment in full.
If you see a charge from us that you do not recognise, please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank. We can usually identify and resolve the issue within one working day, which is faster than a chargeback process.
